Noma’s writers wanted editorial control without a developer in the loop, and the old site scored 31 on mobile Lighthouse. Craft and speed were in tension.

I built a component-driven editorial engine with art-directed layouts authored in MDX, static-rendered for speed, with motion that respects reduced-motion and never blocks reading.

Mobile Lighthouse went from 31 to 99, and the editorial team now ships art-directed features without engineering. Time-to-publish dropped from days to minutes.
