Lumen
Design and front-end for a clinical dashboard that turns dense patient data into something a tired night-shift nurse can read at a glance.
Lumen had a powerful data model and an interface that buried it. Critical alerts competed with chrome, the colour system failed accessibility checks, and the team shipped one-off screens with no shared language.
We built a tokenised design system from contrast-first principles, then redesigned the core monitoring views around a strict information hierarchy — vitals first, everything else earned its place. We handed off a living component library the in-house team could extend.
Time-to-read on the critical-alerts view dropped by more than half in usability testing, and the system now backs every new screen Lumen ships.
“For the first time our designers and engineers are speaking the same language.”
